MODUM Field Trial in Nottingham started

In June 2014 the MODUM test implementations have started in Nottingham (UK) and in Sofia (BG). Commuters in both cities, who have agreed to participate in these trial applications, are using the MODUM applications for some weeks and will provide feedback from practical experience.

From April to June 2014 a MODUM pre-test was conducted in Nottingham, whereby test users verified the MODUM app and reported any issues and problems they encountered. This enabled the MODUM partners to correct data, overcome routing problems, and improve the usability of the MODUM application.
In order to promote the MODUM trial among the employees of the Nottingham City Council and recruit test users, the MODUM trial was announced on the screen in the entrance hall of the City Council’s building, and information leaflets were placed on the windscreens of the parked cars. This promotion strategy was quite successful: In the first week of July 2014, when the MODUM trial implementation in Nottingham officially started, about 30 core-testers had already downloaded the MODUM app, and further 70 interested persons had subscribed and stated their interest to participate in the MODUM trial as test users. As the MODUM field trials will run until the end of October, interested people are still invited to become a MODUM test user.
