THE FIRST YEAR OF MODUM A REVIEW

Hello, and welcome to our first MODUM newsletter!

As we are halfway through the project, and a lot of progress has already been made, both on the scientific and technological level. In this newsletter, we will update you on some of the latest activities and accomplishments in the MODUM project. Most importantly is the fact that we near completion of the underlying software models that calculate and predict optimal routes based on congestion and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, taking into account the current traffic situation. These models are then implemented in hardware, which is then deployed in two cities. Both Nottingham in the UK, and Sofia in Bulgaria, will provide the background for the validation studies using a wealth of available traffic information, smart phones, and in-car devices. We also invite you to visit our website, which contains numerous deliverables that detail the scientific models, as well as useful material associated with the setup of the validation studies.
